Maintenance and maintenance of carbon brushes of DC motors
Electric brushes can basically be used in a variety of applications, including rotating bases or platforms, from industrial equipment, such as automatic welding machines, to wind turbines, and even turntable operation of amusement park rides. However, the maintenance and maintenance of the carbon brushes of DC motors are also very important.
Carbon brush installation: The brush should be installed in the brush holder to be able to move up and down freely. The gap between the side of the brush and the inner wall of the brush holder should be between 0.1-0.3 mm to prevent the brush card from swinging due to the large gap. The distance between the lower edge of the brush handle and the surface of the commutator should be set within the range of 2-3 mm. If the distance is too small, the commutating brush will be easily damaged; if the example is too large, it will easily be jerky and cause damage.
Carbon brush pressure: try to be the same, especially the brushes used in parallel, otherwise it will cause uneven load on the brushes. Different motors have different spring pressures. The pressure of the carbon brush can be adjusted by some researched data.
Replace the carbon brush: If the brush is grind to 2/3 or 1/2 of the original height, a decision must be made to replace it. When making this decision, the old brush should be removed from the motor and replaced with a new brush, but the model and specification should be the same as the original brush.
